Recently NETS launched its own contactless payment to compete with Ez-Link. To get the NETS FlashPay card, you pay $12 to get $14 worth of bonus value. Today, I saw ton of people queuing at the INets Kiosk during lunch time and it is really worth the long queue to get an extra $2.00 worth of value? Alternative you could get the card at NTUC, 7-11 for the same price and get $12.00 worth of value. What are your views and which route will you choose?

I'd think any person without the time or inclination to waste an hour or more will not bother to queue for $2. However its an option to those who can afford the time and effort. I'm a busy professional and even if I had time to burn I'd rather be doing something else than earn $2. |

Maybe the iNets Kiosk you were at is a popular one. If you really want the extra $2, and happen to be near some other less crowded kiosk , then I'd say...go for it! |

In a word: NO I hate NETS. It's a poor excuse for a debit card -- feature poor and monopolistic. It might be omnipresent in Singapore but once you've used a real debit card somewhere that offer one (the "debit" cards offered by the local banks don't cut it... you have to go to North America or Europe). Nets only works because the government said so. I hope ez-link continues to offer better products and service so NETS has to step up or die. |
